In a recent episode of Vanderpump Rules, Tom Sandoval opened up about his relationship with Rachel 'Raquel' Leviss. During the show's after show, Sandoval revealed that communication between them had ceased prior to his appearance on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, which was filmed just before the start of Vanderpump Rules season 11 last summer.
Sandoval expressed that cutting ties with Leviss was extremely difficult for him, especially considering the support he had been providing her following her stay at The Meadows, a mental health facility in Arizona. Leviss had entered The Meadows to address her trauma and love addiction, which became a topic of discussion during the intense season 10 reunion. During that time, it was revealed that Sandoval and Leviss had been involved in a months-long affair behind the backs of their friends and Sandoval's then-girlfriend of nine years, Ariana Madix.
Sandoval stated that he had done everything in his power to be there for Leviss during her recovery, going as far as quitting drinking and smoking to ensure their sobriety alignment. He had hoped that when she got out of the facility, they could start fresh together.
When asked why Leviss chose to cut off communication with him, Sandoval indicated that he believed there were multiple reasons for her decision. He mentioned that her parents' disapproval of him played a role, as they were angry that she ended up in that situation and blamed him for it. He acknowledged his own responsibility in the situation but emphasized that Leviss' publicist's focus on 'optics' also contributed to the strain on their relationship.
Earlier this month, Leviss spoke to PEOPLE at the GLAUDI by Johana Hernandez's New York Fashion Week presentation about her challenging journey. She described it as a difficult time and admitted that at certain moments, she doubted she would make it through. However, she expressed gratitude for being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and reintegrate into the real world. Leviss emphasized that she had overcome many difficulties over the past year and was finally beginning to live life again.
While the reasons for the breakdown in Sandoval and Leviss' relationship are complex and multifaceted, the couple is navigating their separate paths. Vanderpump Rules continues to captivate viewers, providing glimpses into the intricacies and challenges of their lives.
