Tom Parker's widow Kelsey faces 'hardest challenge' six months on from his death

Tom Parker's widow Kelsey has marked six months since the singer's death by detailing on Instagram one of her hardest challenges she has to face without him.

The Wanted star passed away in March at the age of just 33 after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, leaving behind Kelsey and their two children Aurelia, three, and Bodhi, two.

Now, exactly half a year on, 30-year old Kelsey has taken to the social media platform to share her thoughts on 'another day, another milestone' as she prepares to attend the wedding of their close friends, Kelsey and Dean.

"6 months to the day since we lost Tom but you're still here @tomparkerofficial in everything we do," she wrote.

"We have arrived at the hotel to get ready for Kelsey and Dean's wedding tomorrow and I'm so excited to watch my best friend get married to the best guy we could have chosen for her. The only man Tom ever approved of for our Kels.

"Tom would be so proud of you both and I know he's gutted to be missing out on this special day. Not having him by my side tomorrow will be one of the hardest challenges I've faced yet, but I will do it."

She continued: "Wedding spam incoming because I am determined to make it the best day for Kels, Dean and all our friends and family but before we start the celebrations I just wanted to do a little post to my Tom. This week has been one of the hardest yet and I would give anything to be sharing this weekend with you.

"Holding onto the knowledge that to be loved is everything and we loved hard. I would say I do to you a million times over. I love you Tom #positiveparkersforever.

"And now... to Kelsey and Dean!"

More than 25,000 friends and fans responded within a matter of hours to offer their support, with bride-to-be Kelsey herslef commenting: "Emotional wreck. Let's do this xxxx."

A follower added: "Oh Kelsey! Tom will not miss it fir the world, I'm sure he will make his presence known for sure. Sending you lots of positive love for the special day. Congratulations to Kelsey & Dean."

Another wrote: "A beautiful post as always Kelsey. He is so so much missed but never forget he is with you all, every single day. You're doing so incredibly well. Sending so much love, strength and positive happy vibes to you and all those around you. Hope this weekend brings some smiles all round xxx."

And a third said: "Sending you so much love, after losing my husband suddenly almost a year ago I know what you’re going through."

Earlier this month, meanwhile, Kelsey opened up about the 'toughest' part of grief since her husband died.

The mum-of-two appeared on ITV's Loose Women where she spoke about how she has been coping.

Speaking to the panellists and the studio audience, Kelsey talked about what the hardest parts are and how her children have been getting on.

Janet Street Porter asked when the hardest times for Kelsey were.

Kelsey said: "Evenings are so tough. It's because the kids go to bed and it's just me.

"That's the time you speak to your partner, you gossip, you talk. I don't have that any more."
