Europa League finalists Rangers are right in the signing mix to land in-demand Tom Lawrence.
The Welsh international is a free agent after leaving Derby County. Rangers had been linked with him previously but he had looked to be out of their financial reach. Lawrence is very much in demand but the player has indicated that he would be keen on a move to the Scottish Premiership with the chance of European football and winning silverware.
That has opened the door for Rangers and they are ready to see if a deal can be done. They are also looking to replace Joe Aribo who is Southampton-bound. Leeds United, Everton, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United have all been linked with the 28-year-old. Lawrence came through at Manchester United before he moved on to Leicester City and then Derby. He has been at Pride Park for the last five years but left after their financial woe led to relegation.
Lawrence is also keen to get his future sorted out with a World Cup place with Wales on the horizon this summer. Rangers have also been linked with Genk winger Theo Bongdongo but that is agent-driven.
Rangers are on the verge of landing Antonio Colak in a £1.8m deal and star man Aribo closing in on Southampton.
