Tom Kim was mortified to learn his accidental mud bath at the PGA Championship went viral

Golf fans surely did not have Tom Kim falling into a creek and getting completely drenched in mud on their PGA Championship bingo cards, but that is exactly what happened in hilarious viral fashion.

The 2023 PGA Championship began on Thursday with round one at Oak Hill Country Club. As play was winding down for the day, Kim accidentally slipped into a hazard and emerged covered in mud from his feet to his thighs. Not even Kim’s hands were spared the accidental mud bath, as it was all over his body by the time he was able to wrestle himself free from the hazard.

While an unfortunate incident, Kim was thankfully able to towel himself off and acquire a new shirt to finish off his round for the day.

Afterwards, when speaking to the media, Kim then learned his mud bath went viral and was completely mortified at becoming golf Twitter’s main character of the day.

Thankfully, Kim was a good sport about his slip at the end of the day and was able to laugh it off with the rest of us. Here’s how golf fans reacted to Kim’s accidental mud bath at the 2023 PGA Championship.
