Last season, Jaxon Kohler missed a big chunk of time with a foot injury, and never looked quite comfortable upon his return. This year, it looks like he could be in line for a big role with Michigan State basketball, if his coach and teammate’s opinion are any indication.
When Jaden Akins was asked who has improved the most since last season, he apparently gave a very quick answer: Jaxon Kohler.
Tom Izzo, in his press conference Thursday, echoed a similar sentiment, saying Kohler ‘is a lot different player than he was a year and a half ago’ and that he ‘is really driven to accomplish something.’
While it was incoming transfer center Szymon Zapala who started in the Spartans’ first exhibition of the preseason, it will be worth keeping an eye on Kohler this year to see how he has improved his game.
