Tom Holland's new T-shirt is surprisingly affordable – and has a message to share

The T-shirt demonstrates the actor's street style prowess - (AMI)

Yes, Tom Holland is a world-renowned film star. And yes, he is married to one of the most famous, beautiful women in the world. But something he isn’t celebrated enough for in my eyes? His street style prowess.

Spotted strolling with new wife, Zendaya, through the streets of NYC a few weeks back, Holland was repping AMI Paris’ “Thank you for being a friend" slogan T-shirt, and it’s subsequently been on my payday wish list ever since.

Styled with a pair of pleated, slightly wide-legged trousers, his Bero baseball cap in a contrasting tone, and crisp white trainers, Holland exemplified an off-duty vibe, all the while looking polished, sharp, and ever-so-slightly edgy.

"Thank you for being a friend" T-shirt: £180, Amiparis.com

The piece itself is from AMI Paris’ “Thank You For Being A Friend” capsule collection, released in late May. Characterised by its intimate slogan, the piece is at once bold but sensitive, distinctive in both message and the bright blue of the piece’s background.

Alongside the capsule’s launch earlier in the summer, AMI Paris spread its presence throughout the globe, where the titular message appeared on iconic urban surfaces – monuments, metro stations, billboards, and street-side spots – throughout a number of major cities, in an audacious tribute to friendships, old and new.

As for what the slogan itself actually means, AMI says that founder and creative director Alexandre Mattiussi has always found his spark in the values of friendship, intimacy, and trust, and that this capsule represents a tribute to the profound joy of actually thanking someone for being a friend. While this might feel like a foreign concept to us emotion-shy Brits, there’s no denying it’s a worthwhile sentiment... and if you can’t say it? Do as Tom Holland did, and wear it on a T-shirt instead.
