Tom Grennan has found himself in hot water with Twitter users after making an 'inappropriate' comment to fellow singer Ellie Goulding at the BRIT Awards.
The pair were onstage when Tom made the bizarre remark about Ellie's breasts, asking if they were 'real' and sparking outrage amongst viewers at home.
The comment was made shortly before they presented an award to indie duo Wet Leg. Referencing Ellie's outfit, which was a daring wet-look top, Tom said: "'I love what you're doing – they're your real boobs?"
To which Ellie replied: "These are not mine, I wish, mine are a lot further apart."
Birmingham Live reports that the awkward encounter made Twitter users furious, as they accused Tom of "harrassing" Ellie.
One person said: "Tom Grennan thinking it was appropriate to ask Ellie Goulding if they were her real boobs, on the Brits stage, just gave me the quickest ick in a while. Like instantaneous sick in my mouth."
Another wrote: "“I love what you’re doing? Are those your real boobs?” Tom Grennan asks Ellie Goulding. That silence that followed was what was left of his career going up in smoke. #BRITs"
A third person commented: "Mo Gilligan: I'm going to make the biggest fool of myself at the Brits Tom Grennan: Hold my beer! #TheBritAwards #BRITs #Brits2023 ".
And another horrified viewer said: "Tom Grennan thinking it was appropriate to ask Ellie Goulding if they were her real boobs, on the Brits stage, just gave me the quickest ick in a while. Like instantaneous sick in my mouth."
"Tom Grennan casually verbally harassing Ellie Goulding on stage at the Brits with that "are those your actual breasts" comment and getting way with it is not a good look in 2023, lads," someone else penned.
Later on in the evening, Ellie shared a snap of her and Tom hugging on her Instagram story with the caption: "Such a great time with this gentleman this evening. Thanks for being a great co-host and congrats to Wet Leg."
