Tom Daley's Hell of a Homecoming for Comic Relief: How much was raised and how can I watch it?

Tom Daley is best known for being a British Olympic diver but in February 2022, he took part in a demanding endurance challenge which saw him swim, cycle and row from London to his hometown of Plymouth.

The 27-year-old really put his body through it's paces when he took part in the epic four-day challenge to raise funds for the life-changing projects Comic Relief supports. He started the challenge on February 14 and finally ran through the finishing line on February 18.

After finishing the gruelling challenge, Tom posted on his Instagram: "This has honestly been the hardest thing I have ever put my body through! The support has been amazing along the way and thank you to everyone who has donated to @comicrelief because it will make such a huge difference to so many people!"

Now, Tom's testing challenge has been broadcast on BBC One showing the trials and triumphs across the four days and the people who joined and supported him along the way. So where can you watch the programme, how much was raised and what is airing for Comic Relief this week? Here's everything you need to know:

What is BBC One's Tom Daley's Hell of a Homecoming about and how much was raised?

Olympic diver Tom Daley took part in a four-day challenge to raise money for Comic Relief and it was filmed for a 60-minute documentary.

It is not yet known how much Tom raised during his challenge - donations can still be made on the Comic Relief website. Usually totals are announced during the Comic Relief live televised fundraiser which this year will air on Friday, March 18 from 7pm.

The Comic Relief challenge saw him cycle, swim, row and run a 290-mile route from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford to his hometown in Plymouth. Not only was it an incredible test of endurance but the BBC documentary showed each day's challenge and how he had to battle the wind and rain from Storm Dudley too.

On the first day Tom rowed six miles and cycled 60 miles starting at the Aquatic Centre at the Olympic Park - which had special significance to the diver as his dad, Robert's ashes are placed at the foot of the diving board. He then rowed on the River Thames before cycling from the Tower of London to Reading.

On day two, he swam 1,000 metres in the Redgrave Pinsent Lake, before jumping on a bike and cycling 63-miles to Southampton. Tom was once again back on the bike for another 12-hour 130 mile cycle ride to his destination of Bovey Castle in Dartmoor National Park.

Then finally on day four, he had a run of 30 miles to endure before he reached his final destination of his hometown of Plymouth at Smeaton's Tower. He was joined by his mum and comedian, actor and marathon runner Eddie Izzard.
