Tom Cruise shares BTS video of death-defying stunt on upside down plane in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning: WATCH

Tom Cruise is continuing to put his life on the line to shoot some adrenaline-pumping stunts for his movies.

In a behind-the-scenes video from Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the actor, known for performing his own stunts, filmed another death-defying stunt that saw him hanging on for dear life. Cruise shared the video on his handle and captioned it as, "Hang on..."

In a new Instagram post, Cruise shared exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the stunt. The video shows Cruise hanging from an upside-down yellow biplane, while director McQuarrie observes the camera monitors from a helicopter.

The latest instalment, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, sees Cruise back in action as Ethan Hunt, as he faces off against Gabriel (Esai Morales) and the Entity in what promises to be an electrifying conclusion to the franchise. A previous trailer for The Final Reckoning already teased several jaw-dropping sequences, including an aerial scene involving two biplanes.

McQuarrie recently hinted in an interview with Empire that an even more ambitious stunt in the film will surpass both the aerial sequences and the previously teased underwater submarine scene.

Cruise, on the other hand, said to the portal that he encourages fans to watch the movie in theatres. Speaking to Empire, he said, “You gotta see the movie. It’s a hard thing for me to discuss at the moment, because it really is something that you have to experience.”

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is scheduled to hit theatres on May 23, 2025.
