Widely regarded as one of the best Hollywood sequels in living memory, Top Gun: Maverick will be landing on Paramount+ just in time for Christmas.
While the Tom Cruise movie's daring, highly realistic aerobatic stunts were impressive enough, perhaps the film's most incredible move was to pull off the double 'golden Goose' of being a hit with both critics and audiences.
A sequel to the 1986 classic, the film deftly pulled at the heart strings of the older viewer but was also fresh and exhilarating enough to appeal to today's younger generation, with many believing it to be better than the original.
The story concerns Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell, one of the Navy's top aviators sent to train a detachment of young and thrusting graduates for a special assignment.
With its potent cocktail of nostalgia and visceral thrills, it's no wonder the movie attracted a stunning 8.6 on IMDb, and a staggering 99 per cent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes - and you can stream it on Paramount + from December 22.

And that's not all the streaming platform has on its starting blocks.
Paramount stablemate, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be spinning onto our screens from November 28.
Released earlier this year, the movie went on to become the most successful video game adaptation of all time, atrracting a reasonable 6.5 on IMDB and a scintillating 96 per cent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Picking up where the first instalment left off, the story concerns Sonic eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero.
Everyone's favourite blue hedgehog is really put through his paces when Dr Robotnik returns with a new partner, Knuckles, in search of a mystical emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations.
Unpeturbed, Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, to embark on a globe-trotting journey to bag the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
What else will Paramount + be serving up?
From Boxing Day (December 26) you'll be able to lasso yourself some Yellowstone Season Five. Kevin Costner stars as Montana rancher John Dutton, head of a family who control the largest contiguous ranch in America.
Constantly threatened by land developers, an Indian reservation and the US’s first national park, the Dutton family have a heck of task on their hands to defend themselves. Whether it’s old-school frontier-justice thrills or the sweepingly gorgeous vistas of Montana, there’s a lot to like about Yellowstone.
Densely packed with characters and plot, it’s hard not to get swept away by it all. It has an IMDb rating of 8.7.
