Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell may have romantically reunited after the pari posed at a film premiere in London together.
The 56-year-old A Few Good Men star and the 40-year-old British actress are said to have fallen for each other last year while filming the upcoming Mission Impossible sequel.
However the pair reportedly broke up last September – amid speculation the hugely delayed Mission Impossible seven and eight films are ‘cursed’.
Speculation was rife, therefore, when Hayley arrived on the red carpet of Top Gun: Maverick on Thursday night in order to support Tom at the UK launch of his latest film – with tongues wagging that they are an item again.
The Sun has reported: "Hayley’s last-minute decision to attend the star-studded event in London’s Leicester Square shows how close she and Tom have become again after separating last year."
While a source added to the publication: “She’s purely there to support him. It’s a big step for them.”
The Mirror has contacted Tom’s publicist for comment.
Hayley does not feature int he cast of the Top Gun sequel – which arrives in cinemas next week, 36 years after the original film was released.
The Captain America actress stunned in a black dress for the occasion – in a gown designed by Sabina Bilenko Couture, jewellery by Anabela Chan, and shoes from Gina.
Taking to Instagram after walking the carpet, Hayley gushed: “@topgunmovie premiere this evening. An epic action adventure, masterfully created by an exceptional team of filmmakers, lead by the most generous and wholehearted movie legend @tomcruise.”
While both Tom and Hayley have remained tight lipped about their reported romance, a source claimed last September that work commitments has caused their split.
The friend claimed at the time: “It has been a very intense period of filming together. They really got on well – and they’re obviously both very good-looking Hollywood stars so it made for a good match.
“But as the latest film winds down they’ve decided to go back to being friends.
“Their filming schedules are very full-on, and Tom has a number of other commitments coming up and is always shooting around by private helicopter and jet so it just ran its course.
“But they’re still happy to work together. It’s a shame, but just one of those things. They still get on well.”
They had been working on Mission Impossible seven together – which is expected to finally release in July next year; five years after the previous film in the spy series was released.
The next two Mission Impossible films are tipped to be the last, and have been being filmed back-to-back – but the Covid-19 pandemic hampered the filming process.
The first of the duo; Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, was originally due to be released in 2021.
