Tom Brady has made a case for being the best quarterback of all time. He has all the records you can imagine, but the thing that put him over the edge was his ability to win in the clutch.
In 10 trips to the biggest game of the year, Tom Brady won seven of them, six with the New England Patriots, another with Tampa Bay.
Sure, he was great in every game, but the memories come from the rings, so let's take a look back at the games where No. 12 raised the Lombardi Trophy.
Super Bowl XXXVI: Patriots 20, Rams 17
The upstart Patriots, who got to the big game after winning a controversial game over the Oakland Raiders in a game dubbed the "Tuck Rule" game, Brady went head to head with the Kurt Warner and the Greatest Show on Turf to win his first ring. Brady threw for 145 yards and a touchdown to David Patten. He also led New England on a game-winning drive that ended with a walk-off Adam Vinatieri 48-yard field goal. Brady was the MVP.
Super Bowl XXXVIII: Patriots 32, Panthers 29
This was another game that was won on the strength of a Vinatieri field goal, but Brady was dynamic, throwing for 345 yards and three touchdowns — one apiece to Deion Branch, David Givens and Mike Vrabel. Brady was the MVP.
Super Bowl XXXIX: Patriots 24, Eagles 21
The Patriots went back-to-back and won another close one. Brady threw for 254 yards and two touchdowns, one to Givens, the other to Vrabel, but this time the Patriots didn't need a late field goal to win. Corey Dillon rushed for a fourth-quarter score to seal the deal. Branch won the MVP.
Super Bowl XLIX: Patriots 28, Seattle 24
It took 10 years for Brady to get another championship, and once again, he did it in style, holding off the Seahawks in a back-and-forth game to win ring No. 4. Brady threw for 328 yards and four touchdowns, to Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Danny Amendola and Brandon LaFell to lead the offense. Seattle had a chance to take the lead late in the game but Russell Wilson threw an interception (Malcom Butler) to end the Seahawks' chances. Brady won his third MVP.
Super Bowl LI: Patriots 34, Atlanta 28
A lot of Patriots fans might have missed the end of this game because the Falcons jumped out to a 28-3 lead, but Brady and his boys never lost hope. He threw for 466 yards, including touchdowns to Amendola, who also hauled in a game-tying two-point conversion, and James White. White also scored a pair of rushing touchdowns, including one in overtime to give the Patriots the win. Once again, Brady was the MVP.
Super Bowl LII: Patriots 13, Rams 3
A year after falling to the Eagles in the Super Bowl, Brady rebounded to win his final championship in New England. It was the first time No. 12 failed to throw a touchdown in the game, but he didn't need to. Sony Michel's touchdown run was all the team needed to win the lowest scoring Super Bowl in NFL history. Edelman was the MVP.
Super Bowl LV: Buccaneers 31, Chiefs 9
In his first year removed from New England, Brady and the Bucs upset the defending champions. Brady threw for a modest 201 yards, but he hit Gronkowski for two touchdowns and another to former teammate Antonio Brown to lead the lopsided win. In Brady's final Super Bowl, he won his fifth MVP.
