Tom Brady quickly put to rest any rumor that he was going going to unretire yet again on Tuesday. The father of three did so with a very dad-like response because, quite frankly, he has something much more pressing on his plate than winning football games.
“Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2-month-old kitten for their daughter,” he said on Twitter.
Brady was responding to a tweet referencing a report from Rich Eisen saying that he may return to playing and maybe even do so with the Dolphins. The 45-year-old cut his first retirement short last offseason but it appears he’s truly done this time around.
Brady has two sons and one daughter and it came to light after his retirement that he was spending some time at an animal shelter while he was still playing. After he announced his retirement, Ashley Bragg Ryan, the wife of Buccaneers safety Logan Ryan, took to Instagram to show a picture of Brady and his kids along with the Ryan family holding some puppies with their children.
In the post, she said Brady would bond with his kids while naming puppies and bottle-feeding kittens among other things. It appears the time taking care of the animals left its mark on Brady and his daughter, leading to the adoption of the newest member of the Brady family. Playing football is definitely not a priority for Brady these days.
