Tom Brady claimed it felt ‘f***** awesome’ as he led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a dramatic last-gasp win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
The iconic quarterback drove downfield to fire the game-sealing touchdown pass with nine seconds remaining to give the Bucs a much-needed 16-13 victory over the Rams, the defending Super Bowl champions. It means Brady and co. have snapped a three-game losing streak to move to 4-5 while the Rams sink to 3-5.
During the game, Brady also became the first player in NFL history to throw for over 100,000 career passing yards. It’s a remarkable achievement that not only highlights the GOAT’s longevity, but also his devastating success given he is over 14,000 yards clear of former New Orleans Saints star Drew Brees, who lies in second.
Brady was clearly thrilled as he led the Buccaneers to victory in epic scenes, despite a number of key drops from his receiving corps. In his post-match press conference, the 45-year-old stepped up to the podium and said: “That was awesome. That was f****** awesome!”
Brady snapped the longest losing streak of his career with a one-yard pass to rookie tight end Cade Otton to secure the win for the Bucs. He claimed possession with 44 seconds left and completed five of six passes to move 60 yards without a timeout on the game-winning drive - the 55th of his illustrious career.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion avoided his first four-game losing streak since 2002 while he defeated the Rams for the first time since joining the Bucs. It was a sloppy performance from Tampa Bay, but the win will ultimately prove to be a massive confidence boost for Brady and co.
Brady - who passed the 100,000 milestone on a 15-yard completion to Leonard Fournette - added: “We needed it and we got it. We fought until the end. The defence played great. We made some plays offensively.

When Brady entered the NFL in 2000 as the 199th pick in the draft, Dan Marino held the record for passing yards and touchdown passes (420) while John Elway had more wins (149) than any other quarterback. Brady has claimed all three: he now has 100,000 passing yards to go with 719 touchdown passes and 281 wins.
After leading the game-winning drive, Brady and Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich embraced each other as emotion began to flow following an intense few weeks for both Brady and the franchise. The embrace could have been Brady giving the 42-year-old the credit for calling the right plays down the stretch without a single timeout left to call.
Brady and the Bucs, who reclaimed top spot in the NFC South, travel to Munich to take on the high-flying Seattle Seahawks in the first NFL International Series clash in Germany on Sunday.
