Tokyo new virus cases fall below 20,000

Tokyo logged 19,798 new cases of infection with the novel coronavirus on Friday, with the daily tally falling below 20,000 for the first time in three days.

The capital's tally was up 2,167 from a week earlier.

Meanwhile, Kanagawa Prefecture logged a record-high 9,032 new cases.
