Toddler killed in Townsville accident after car reverses over her on private property

A tragic car accident has claimed the life of an 18-month-old girl in Townsville.

A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokesperson said that around 4pm on Sunday a car backed over the toddler at a private property in the Townsville suburb of Mount Louisa.

The QAS spokesperson said paramedics took her to Townsville Hospital in a critical condition.

Queensland Police confirmed that she died on Sunday evening.

Investigations are continuing.
