Celtic hero Charlie Nicholas is warning that the acquisition of Todd Cantwell at Rangers could spell the end for Malik Tillman.
The Light Blues are well in the hunt to sign the Norwich City star after it was revealed last week that Michael Beale was interested in acquiring the 24-year-old whose contract at Carrow Road ends in the summer. Another young talent who could be leaving Glasgow at the end of the season is Tillman, whose loan spell has been impressive so far from Bayern Munich.
And while the USA international hasn't ruled out a permanent switch to Ibrox, Nicholas insists he and Cantwell are one and the same player with Beale 'unlikely' to have both in his arsenal.

He said in his Scottish Daily Express: "Rangers are trying to sign Todd Cantwell. If they sign him from Norwich then I think the writing might be on the wall for Malik Tillman at Ibrox because they are both similar players.
"I saw a lot of him in England and then I watched him again when Norwich played Celtic in pre-season. He is a nice, tidy footballer but is exactly the same as Tillman. Rangers will have to pay a big fee to Bayern Munich in the summer and I see Cantwell being a cheaper option.
"Tillman was being likened to Michael Ballack by Michael Beale, which was high praise in itself. Now he is looking to bring Cantwell in. What does that tell us?
"It is unlikely Michael Beale will be able to play them together in the same team. If he does manage to fit them in together then it could be an exciting and interesting watch. I just can’t see it and it will be Cantwell rather than Tillman who is Rangers’ future."
