Todd Cantwell calls for 'unity' as pressure mounts on Michael Beale

Todd Cantwell insists unity is what will see Rangers get back on track.

The attacking midfielder has apologised to fans after the club's latest defeat this season.

Taking to social media, Cantwell admits it's actions that are needed and not words - although, it would be "cowardly" to remain quiet.

Michael Beale's side have suffered a poor start to the 2023/24 campaign. An opening day Premiership loss at Kilmarnock was followed up by an Old Firm derby defeat by Celtic at Ibrox.

Rangers are four points behind their rivals in the title race already as we enter the first international break of the campaign.

The club has also dropped out of the Champions League and into the Europa League following a dismal performance in Eindhoven last Wednesday, which saw PSV run out 5-1 winners.

Fans of the club are not happy with Beale nor the players at this time, and they let their feelings be known following Sunday's loss to their arch-Glasgow rivals.

Former Norwich star Cantwell has told the support they deserve better, and that it's now up to the players to deliver that for them.

Posting on his Instagram story, Cantwell said: “We need actions not words however silence can seem cowardly in these times.

“We need unity and togetherness to turn this season successful. It’s not the start we wanted however everything is still in our hands.

“You fans are incredible and you deserve to see better. Over to us.”

Meanwhile, Glen Kamara has insisted that his transfer from Rangers to Leeds was "not complicated".

The Finland international joined the English Championship side on a four-year deal during the summer transfer window after finding his playing time limited at Ibrox last season.

And the midfielder is enjoying his time in Yorkshire.

He told Finnish outlet HS: "The same people who say you're the best player in the world will say the next week you're a lousy player.

"I stopped reading social media years ago. It does not bother me. It just seems to be part of the game. Sometimes things take a long time in life, and patience is the key word then."
