Former FA Cup winning Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet has claimed that Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would be a 'perfect fit' should he sign for Chelsea.
With the Catalan club's precarious transfer situation and their signing of Robert Lewandowski, it appears that the former Arsenal captain has slid down the pecking order in Spain and will need to find a new club this summer. Aubameyang worked with Tuchel at Barcelona before his move to North London and it is believed that the pair have a good relationship.
The striker is reported to be available for a fee in the region of €15 million to €20 million and he would fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku's return to Inter Milan. 'Auba' scored an impressive 11 goals in 17 appearances in La Liga last season for Barca after joining the club in January following the termination of his contract at Arsenal.

Now, he has been backed to succeed at Chelsea by former Blues midfielder and current Greece manager Gus Poyet. The Uruguayan made 105 league appearances for Chelsea before going on to manage Brighton and Sunderland. He was speaking to Lord Ping when he made the comments, saying: "Aubameyang would be perfect for Chelsea, he looks happy and back to his best scoring goals."
He then went on to question why there has been so much crossover in terms of transfer plans between Chelsea and Barcelona this summer, with moves for Jules Kounde, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski all being contested by both clubs. Andreas Christensen also left to join the Spanish giants.
Poyet questioned the rivalry, saying: "I do not know why Chelsea and Barcelona are constantly trying to sign and steal the same players from each other this summer. Both clubs want similar players even though they are nothing alike."
