Since his arrival, Todd Boehly has splashed the cash in an effort to improve the Chelsea squad but results have not followed on the pitch in recent months.
Graham Potter's squad has struggled with injuries and form and currently sit tenth in the Premier League table. This is despite Boehly and the Chelsea hierarchy having spent over £270 million in the summer, a record for Premier League clubs, with players such as Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly failing to have the desired impact so far.
There has been some back luck, with Wesley Fofana's injury in particular demonstrating that the Blues have suffered unexpected blows this season. This has been coupled with injuries to key players Ben Chilwell, Reece James and N'Golo Kante, however, this highlights a failure to strengthen the squad's depth in key areas.

This January provides another chance to get the right players into the squad in order to ensure a successful second half of the season. It is set to start with a big name joining the club, with Joao Felix believed to have made a verbal agreement in order to join Chelsea on a six month loan deal for the rest of the season.
The loan fee for the transfer is believed to be in the region of £10 million which, in addition to deals for Beniot Badiashile, Andrey Santos and David Datro Fofana, takes spending under Boehly's leadership to £345 million. This huge sum is expected to be added to in the coming weeks, with more deals to be done in addition to the expected confirmation of Christopher Nkunku's reported £52.8 million arrival in the summer.
