New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is wasting no time in trying to supply Thomas Tuchel with his Antonio Rudiger replacement after what he has done.
Boehly and his Clearlake Capital consortium finalised their £4.25billion takeover of the club earlier this week. His involvement with the club in his early days have been huge with the part LA Dodgers owner spotted at multiple games before 2021/22 drew to a close. He and soon-to-be departing sporting director Marina Granovskaia have been spotted at Stamford Bridge this week as the names of Romelu Lukaku, Kounde himself and now gone Antonio Rudiger had been high on the agenda of things to sort out in the immediate future.
As already mentioned, Rudiger had his expected Los Blancos move confirmed on Thursday afternoon. A club statement on the website read: "We bid farewell to Antonio Rudiger as he departs Stamford Bridge with his Chelsea contract expiring, bringing to a close his five trophy-filled years with the club. Rudiger made 54 appearances in all competitions in his final campaign, all from the start, more than any other Chelsea player. He departs with 203 appearances and 12 goals to his name, in that time establishing himself as one of the most passionate characters to represent the club in recent memory. Chelsea Football Club thanks Toni for his contribution to our success over the last five years and wishes him well in his future career."
