Todd Boehly's plan to build a Chelsea squad for the future has taken its first steps over the past year, with a whole host of signings made to kickstart the new era at Stamford Bridge. So far on the pitch, some of the chaos from such quick work behind the scenes appears to have rubbed off.
The side currently sit tenth in the Premier League with just two wins in their last 15, mounting pressure on manager Graham Potter. The overarching message at this stage has been to trust the process, with the new ideas from the ownership taking time to build in and become successful.
"There is support and, of course, I've spoken to them," Potter said when asked about a meeting with the owners. "But I'm not going to hide behind that. The results haven't been good enough for us and I'm responsible for that. When you're a coach, if the results are good you accept the criticism and noise that comes with it. My job is to stay with the team, stay focused, try to prepare the team as well as I can, and win the game tomorrow."

While there are difficult times now, the excitement surrounding some of the talent added to the squad still remains there. One of those that is generating a lot of praise is Andrey Santos, a young Brazilian midfielder signed from Vasco Da Gama with plenty of promise for the future.
He showed that off last month as he featured for Brazil's under-20s in the South American Championships, guiding the side to a memorable triumph. Santos' performances were a standout, though it was revealed afterwards that he would not be able to acquire a work permit to feature for the Blues any time soon.
This has led to a return on loan to Vasco Da Gama for a few months to help accrue further points for his visa, though this has taken yet another big boost in recent days. That's because the youngster received a call-up to the senior Brazil international team, something that helps improve the points needed to earn a work permit.
This could see the midfielder back at Cobham sooner rather than later, continuing his progress towards becoming a star for the Blues and overseeing Boehly's big plan.
