Cesc Fabregas believes Chelsea winning next season's Premier League title is "doable" under Todd Boehly.
The Blues are set to finish in mid-table with their torrid run of form seeing them slide down the table. Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter have both been axed by the American owners with Frank Lampard currently in charge until the end of the season whilst a new boss is identified.
Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be the frontrunner and will inherit a squad, expensive assembled, but seemingly lacking in confidence, direction or identity. Fabregas was part of the Chelsea side that finished 10th in 2016 before Antonio Conte came in and claimed the title.
The Spaniard maintains that, despite the difficulties currently facing the club on and off the pitch, they can quickly turn it around provided they appoint someone who is able to galvanise the group and get his ideas across.
He said on Sky Sports: "Six years ago we had a really bad season with Chelsea, we finished tenth. Jose Mourinho left, Guus Hiddink came and he started to play younger players to give them experience for the next year. In the April they signed Conte, who came to the training ground and spoke to us individually.
"Planned what he wanted to do with us so we could start fresh in the following season and we won the Premier League - against Guardiola, against Klopp, against Mourinho - it is not impossible. This happened six years ago, I was there, I lived it. If you bring someone in, with the experience, with the character who can put everyone together, who can give clear ideas - it is doable."
Boehly has copped heavy criticism since being co-owner at Stamford Bridge. His spending habits have raised alarm bells with Gary Neville accusing him of playing "football manager". He originally appointed Potter on a lengthy deal, citing a "long-term project" but sacked him within months.
Fan anger is growing with Chelsea set to record their worst finish since the turn of the millennium as the direction of the club is questioned. The playing group is set for a major overhaul due to the numbers who've arrived with Cesar Azpiliceuta calling on the board to improve.
He said after the loss to Arsenal : "It's the worst run since I've been at the club. We're the ones playing on the pitch and we have to turn this around. It's hard for everybody and we have to come through these moments. Off the pitch we have a lot of things to work on."
