Chelsea this season are less a well-oiled machine and more the sum of very expensive broken parts.
It doesn't bear repeating just how much Todd Boehly and the ownership team have splurged in an attempt to rebuild the Blues, but on current form, it looks like someone has flipped the table rather than successfully putting the pieces of the jigsaw together. Against Spurs the Blues looked bereft of ideas and Graham Potter cut a frustrated figure on an isolated touchline.
The Englishman is reportedly unhappy with the number of players that he has to train, with it disrupting his methods and messages. As the head coach however, it's on Potter's shoulders to make big calls and tough decisions and he has the power to send players not in his plans away to work with the ones he wishes.
Regardless, he is under immense pressure from Chelsea fans, as they were not fortunate enough to see their side claim a victory in February, and only net a lonesome singular goal. After spending £20million to lure Potter away from Brighton in September, Todd Boehly now faces the most critical test in his short ownership of the Blues.

The buccaneering American must decide whether he sticks with his intended project, or falls into the ways of the previous ownership and be ruthless with the current head coach. Here at football.london, we want to know what Blues fans think Boehly should do, so you can have your say by taking part in our Graham Potter survey below.
There is the classic argument that with a squad overhaul as drastic as it has been in SW6, Graham Potter should at least get a full pre-season to fully mould this bloated squad into one of his own. At some point however, there has to be some improvement on what happens on the pitch, and at the moment the slide appears to only be heading one way.
Do Chelsea simply write off this season at the expense of the next? Or, with it only taking a small good run of results to climb up the table, is there still hope of salvaging a European position with a different head coach?
Only time will tell, but make sure you have your say on the Blues' next move by taking part in the survey, and leaving a comment with your thoughts to join the debate below.
