Todd Boehly is building an English core to his Chelsea squad as the overhaul of players continues despite the transfer window's closure.
Although Graham Potter's nationality wasn't a reason behind his appointment, the coach joins an ever-growing cohort of Englishman at the club. Alongside international stars Raheem Sterling, Reece James, Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Conor Gallagher both have caps whilst Trevoh Chalobah is also eligible for Gareth Southgate's side.
There is also a group of promising young players coming from the academy, on top of signing England U19 star Carney Chukwuemeka, including Harvey Vale and Charlie Webster. It's a push that has built up a core of homegrown stars that also know the country, league and club, and it's something that is set to continue.
