Chelsea look to have completed the signing of Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards after hijacking Newcastle's move for the talented Jamaican striker. The Phoenix All Stars Academy in Kingston, Jamaica announced on social media on Saturday evening that the teenage striker had agreed pre-contract terms with the Blues, as per the Evening Standard.
Richards - who scored 31 goals and notched 19 assists last season for his current side - had recently been on trial in Newcastle’s academy and attended their 1-1 Premier League draw at St James’ Park last month. He has now agreed to join Chelsea as Todd Boehly continues to sign young talents that can develop into world-class players.
The Blues have already spent over £600million on new signings since Boehly arrived at Stamford Bridge. football.london understands Christopher Nkunku is expected to complete a move to west London this summer after agreeing a pre-contract with the Blues.

Attack has been a key area of concern for Graham Potter this season despite Kai Havertz having gained some recent form after scoring against Borussia Dortmund and Leicester City. Richards will join the Blues in November after agreeing a deal to join the club following an announcement on social media.
A statement from Kyle Butler on Instagram read: “On behalf of the Phoenix All Stars Football Academy, I am proud to announce the signing of Dujuan “Whisper” Richards to Premier League giants Chelsea FC. I am elated to be apart of history and to know that this is just the first step for Whisper as he’ll continue to develop and become the superstar he’s destined to be.
"Whisper I am proud of you. Heart and love every time.”
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea director Joe Shields was crucial in negotiations with Richards as he eventually agreed to join the Blues. The young Jamaican is set to follow his international teammate Omari Hutchinson to Stamford Bridge after the latter joined Chelsea from Arsenal earlier this season.
Romano also revealed that the next young talent to join the Blues will be Ecuadorian youngster Kendry Paez. Boehly continues to scout the world for players that can come into the club and develop in the academy before eventually being implemented into the senior team.
