To protect US democracy from tyrants, we must protect the truly free press

Reliable and independent sources of news are now threatened by growing alliances of oligarchs and authoritarians.

The mainstream media doesn’t use the term “oligarchy” to describe the billionaires who are using their wealth to enlarge their political power around the world, but that is what is happening.
