Geraint Thomas is preparing for a return to the Giro d'Italia this May, combining the Italian Grand Tour where he finished second last year with the Tour de France a month later.

The Welshman will be taking on Tadej Pogačar at both races as the pair aim to become the first rider to do the Giro-Tour double since Marco Pantani in 1998.
