'To be honest' - Jude Bellingham addresses future amid Liverpool transfer rumours

Jude Bellingham has insisted he remains happy at Borussia Dortmund and played down the potential of a Premier League move ahead of his side's Champions League tie with Manchester City tomorrow evening.

The teenage midfielder is a player Liverpool are strong admirers of, though it is anticipated the Reds will not be the only side vying for the signature of Bellingham next summer. Under contract at Dortmund until June 2025, Jurgen Klopp's side will likely be forced to smash their transfer record to stand any chance of signing the England international.

Bellingham has watched on as former team-mates of his, Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho, have completed big-money transfers to the English top-flight, and the question on everyone's lips is whether the Birmingham City academy graduate will follow suit.

Asked if tomorrow's match at the Etihad Stadium between City and his current employers presents a further opportunity to showcase his talent for all to see, the 19-year-old told reporters: "First of all, I'm here to help Borussia Dortmund win the game. If I can play well and showcase my talents, it is a bonus. But I'm here to win for Borussia Dortmund and I'm very happy here at the minute and I'm focused on all of the goals we have as a team and I'm not looking past that.

"The club have done loads for me and made me feel very welcome since I first came and gave me the opportunities to develop even further. To look past that and into the future would be disrespectful.

"It's not something I am thinking about, to be honest," he added when probed on whether or not returning to England is a long-term ambition of his. "It's a massive game against Man City. To even be thinking about something like that would be crazy."
