Products sold by food stores and retailers have been recalled by Trading Standards with warnings over the safety of the items to consumers. Product recalls and safety notices are made by traders about products that have problems which could affect the safety of the consumer.
When a product is recalled for any reason, details are shared on what you should do if you have bought the item, as well as detailed information on why the product is being pulled from shelves.

Here are the products that have been recalled in the past week:
TK Maxx Elgetec/Something Cosmetics Ultrapower Ionic Hair Dryer
The Elgetec and Something Cosmetics Ultrapower Ionic Hair Dryer sold in TK Maxx and Homesense is being recalled due to a safety issue which could cause an electric shock or fire. The plug and cord do not meet required safety standards and the plug was found to contain a counterfeit fuse.
Asda Italian inspired chicken and bacon pasta bake
Asda is recalling Asda Italian inspired chicken and bacon pasta bake because it contains mustard, which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard. The product with use-by dates of July 29 and July 30 2022 has been recalled by Asda. The company also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers, explaining to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Huggy Wuggy plush toys
Various Huggy Wuggy Plush Toys, that resemble Disney or Marvel characters, presents a serious risk of choking due to poor stitching on the items, which allows a standard 'finger' in. The poor seam strength allows access to filling materials which presents a choking hazard to young children playing with the toys. Amazon has removed the product from its website as the product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
Wish
Plush golden retriever interactive pet puppy, with a red collar around its neck, has been recalled because there's a risk of injury due to the edges of the mechanism being exposed within the dog's mouth. A child playing with the toy may insert their finger into the dog's mouth, and the motion of the dog's mouth may pinch the child's fingers, causing minor pain and/or bruising. Online retailer Wish has been required to withdraw the product from the market as it does not meet the requirements of the Toy (Safety) Regulations 2011.
John West boneless sardines in sunflower oil/Sardines in olive oil
John West has taken the precautionary action of recalling John West Boneless Sardines in Sunflower Oil and John West Sardines in Olive Oil because of a possible microbiological contamination risk. The company has not said what the exact risk is, but is recalling sardines with the batch codes 109, 110, 111, 112 and 113, best before December 2026. Affected tins are sold in Morrisons, Waitrose, Tesco, Ocado, Amazon, EH Booth, James Hall, Century Park, Co-operative and James Wilson stores.
Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Peptide-C Anti-Aging-Ampullen
The Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Peptide-C Anti-Aging-Ampullen, sold online, is being recalled as it has been observed that, over time and under varying storage conditions, the glass may weaken and therefore the safe opening of the ampoules cannot be guaranteed.
