Titans worked out four players on Tuesday

With the 2023 season set to end for the Tennessee Titans in less than a week, the team took a look at some players via workouts on Tuesday.

According to the league’s transactions wire, the Titans worked out a total of four players, a list that included three defensive backs and one wide receiver.

The common thread for all of them is that they have very little to no experience in the NFL. However, three of them played at least one season in the CFL.

Perhaps the Titans have their eye on an insurance policy or two for the last game of the season with the injuries they have in the secondary and receiving corps. right now. It’s also possible Tennessee is taking a look at young players for potential futures deals.

Whatever the case may be, here’s a look at who the Titans worked out and a little information about each.

DB Kalon Barnes

Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

A former seventh-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2022, Barnes appeared in two games with the Minnesota Vikings in his rookie season and saw just nine snaps on special teams. He didn’t record a stat.

The Baylor product tallied 69 tackles (2.5 for loss), three picks, 14 passes defensed and one forced fumble in 37 games in college.

DB Carthell Flowers-Lloyd

Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

Flowers-Lloyd has never played a snap in the NFL. He tallied 70 tackles, four passes defensed, a fumble forced and recovered and a pick-six during his final collegiate season at Stony Brook in 2022.

He appeared in 18 games in the CFL in 2023 and posted 31 special teams tackles.

DB Reggie Stubblefield

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Stubblefield also has zero experience at the pro level. The former Kansas State defensive back finished his last season in college with 34 tackles (seven for loss), two passes defensed, one fumble recovered and a sack in 12 games.

He most recently played in the CFL, where he finished the 2023 campaign with 41 tackles, two interceptions, three sacks and one forced fumble in 13 games.

WR Samuel Emilus

Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports

Over three years at Massachusetts and one year at Louisiana Tech from 2018-2021, Emilus totaled 76 receptions for 905 yards and 10 touchdowns in 30 games. He has yet to find the field in the NFL.

Emilus tallied 70 catches for 1,097 yards and six touchdowns in 18 games played during his second season in the CFL in 2023.
