Titans’ winners and losers from divisional-round loss to Bengals

After all of the adversity the Tennessee Titans had to go through this season, it seemed like there was nothing this team couldn’t overcome, but on Saturday the team wasn’t able to overcome its poor play on offense.

The Titans’ offense got off to an ominous start after Ryan Tannehill tossed an interception on the first play of the game. That was a sign of things to come, as Tannehill threw two more, which made all the difference in this game.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Tennessee’s defense was good overall, but the pass-rush really shined, notching nine sacks, tying a playoff record, and three of those came from Jeffery Simmons alone.

Thanks to the defense and in spite of the offense’s putrid showing, the Titans still had multiple opportunities to take the lead late in the fourth quarter but were unable to get the job done, which allowed the Bengals to steal a win.

While it’s hard to call anyone a “winner” after a season-ending loss like that, there were some players who really stood out with their individual performance and deserve some recognition.

We take a look at those players and the player and coach who came out of this game as “losers” following the Titans’ 19-16 defeat at the hands of Cincinnati.
