It looks like Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis will not play in the preseason Week 3 contest against the New England Patriots on Friday night.
Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Levis, who is dealing with a thigh injury, is not expected to suit up and instead second-year signal-caller Malik Willis will take the reins for a full game once again, barring starter Ryan Tannehill getting snaps.
Levis suffered the injury on the Thursday before preseason Week 2 and subsequently didn’t play in the game. He was able to return to practice Wednesday but it appears he’s either not ready or the Titans are simply playing in safe.
Whatever the case may be, this gives Willis another opportunity to take center stage and possibly cement himself as the backup to Tannehill.
The Liberty product has shown major improvement this offseason but has also been inconsistent. We’ll see if he can finally put it all together in preseason Week 3.
