And then there were two: the Tennessee Titans have scheduled another second interview with one of their head coaching candidates.
According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, the Titans are bringing in Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown for a second look on Monday. Wolfe adds that Brown “had a strong first virtual interview.”
This is the second head coaching candidate the Titans will hold a second interview with. The team will also speak to Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan for a second time on Monday.
Of course, a second interview indicates that the candidate is a finalist for the job.
And, after they interview Brown in-person, the Titans will have complied with the Rooney Rule, which will allow them to make an actual hire whenever they’re ready to do so.
Brown was the Panthers’ offensive coordinator in 2023, overseeing arguably the worst offense in the NFL. However, Brown didn’t call plays the entire season and the Panthers were completely devoid of talent.
Panthers OC Thomas Brown is having an in-person interview for Titans head coach job today, per source. I’m told he had a strong 1st virtual interview.

What’s intriguing about Brown is that he’s from the Sean McVay coaching tree. He served as running backs coach, tight ends coach and was named assistant head coach over three years under McVay in Los Angeles.
