The Tennessee Titans desperately need to address either wide receiver or left tackle with their No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, but a recent Pro Football Focus mock draft has them addressing a different position.
In the post-Super Bowl mock draft done by PFF’s Trevor Sikkema, the Titans take Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham with their first pick.
As much I like Latham’s outlook in the NFL, he’s a right tackle, which is a position of need for Tennessee but not one they should be addressing with this pick.
I’d much rather the Titans roll the dice on Dillon Radunz, Nicholas Petit-Frere, or a free-agent signing for a year than pass on taking a left tackle or wide receiver here.
The popular left tackle pick among Titans fans has been Notre Dame’s Joe Alt, but the consensus No. 1 left tackle in this class is off the board in this mock at No. 6 to the New York Giants.
However, Penn State’s Olu Fashanu and Oregon State’s Taliese Fuaga — both left tackles — were still available, as was LSU’s Malik Nabers, who is considered one of the top-three wide receivers in this draft.
There is also a possibility the Titans could trade back and get another pick and still land one of the two aforementioned left tackles.
Whatever the case may be, the only way I see the Titans taking Latham is in a trade-back scenario. They should not be selecting him at No. 7 overall.
