The supremely short-handed Tennessee Titans dropped their third game in a row in Week 14, losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars in embarrassing fashion, 36-22.
Tennessee was once again without several key players (especially on defense), including wide receiver Treylon Burks, defensive lineman Denico Autry, linebacker David Long and cornerback Kristian Fulton.
Even Fulton’s backup, Tre Avery, was sidelined for the contest — and it’s safe to say the Titans missed every single one of their absent players.
So, how did the Titans (unsuccessfully) fill their voids against the Jags in Week 14? Find out now as we take a look at the snap counts, and the takeaways from them.
Snap counts and takeaways: Offense
-Austin Hooper (36) and Chig Okonkwo (33) both out-snapped Geoff Swaim (17) for the second-straight week. Sunday also marked the first time Chig has played 30 or more snaps in two-straight games.
-Racey McMath saw 22 snaps in his 2022 debut, while Chris Conley was the biggest beneficiary of Burks’ absence with 33 snaps. NWI (64) and Robert Woods (58) led the way among receivers.
-Derrick Henry eclipsed 50 snaps for the first time this season. Dontrell Hilliard saw nine snaps before exiting due to injury, and Julius Chestnut appeared for seven in his absence.
-Le’Raven Clark didn’t get the start at left tackle like we hoped, but he did play five snaps as an extra blocker. Tennessee’s starting offensive line with Dennis Daley was on the field for every play.
Snap counts and takeaways: Defense
-With David Long and Zach Cunningham both out, Dylan Cole (59) and Monty Rice (51) led the way among inside linebackers. The 51 snaps were the most Rice has played in a game this season.
-Terrance Mitchell got the nod with Fulton and Avery sidelined, playing 59 snaps. Greg Mabin and John Reid, who was making his Titans debut, chipped-in with 13 and three, respectively.
-Tarell Basham played 26 snaps in his Titans debut with Ola Adeniyi being a surprise healthy scratch.
