Titans S Mike Brown designated to return from IR

The Tennessee Titans are inching closer to getting a reinforcement in their secondary, and more specifically, at the safety position.

The team announced on Monday that it has designated safety Mike Brown to return from injured reserve, opening his 21-day window to be activated. It remains to be seen if he’ll be available this week, though.

Brown, who made the Titans’ 53-man roster out of training camp, was placed on the list after Tennessee’s Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns due to an undisclosed injury.

The 24-year-old’s return becomes even more important in the wake of the Kevin Byard trade, which has left the Titans a bit short at safety.

In the first game without Byard, the Titans deployed Elijah Molden alongside regular starter, Amani Hooker, and also utilized Terrell Edmunds, who was acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in the Byard deal.

The Titans also have rookie Matthew Jackson and veteran K’Von Wallace as depth options.
