While the Tennessee Titans and Jeffery Simmons were working on a contract extension, the star defensive lineman decided to unfollow the team on his Instagram account, which we took as a bad sign at the time.
It’s a step other players have taken in recent years, like the Arizona Cardinals’ Kyler Murray and the San Francisco 49ers’ Deebo Samuel, but that didn’t make it any less scary for Titans fans.
However, all is right with the world now that Simmons and the Titans have agreed to a four-year, $94 million extension, and Big Jeff is now back to following his team.
Shortly after the extension was reported, the Titans tweeted out a picture of Simmons’ account refollowing the team’s page.

With the deal in place, Simmons becomes the second-highest-paid defensive lineman in the sport, with his $23.5 million annual average ranking behind only the Los Angeles Rams’ Aaron Donald. Simmons did top Donald in guaranteed money, though, with his $66 million being $1 million more.
