Titans RB Derrick Henry is ready to go for Week 14

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry exited the Week 13 game against the Indianapolis Colts early to be evaluated for a concussion and didn’t return.

As a result, it was assumed that Henry would be in the protocol, and there was even a report stating that was the case.

However, head coach Mike Vrabel quickly blew that out of the water on Monday, stating that Henry was not in the protocol.

The star running back echoed that on Thursday, telling the media that he was never diagnosed with a concussion. And, while he was frustrated he couldn’t get back into the game, he understands the league being cautious.

“No, I wasn’t (diagnosed with a concussion) but I think the league is trying to be precautious on head injuries and guys who stumble, which I respect,” he said, according to Jim Wyatt. “It’ll all about player safety and those things are serious. In the past years, guys had injuries and it kind of lingered a little bit, so I respect it and won’t argue it.”

Prior to leaving the game, Henry was having one of his best showings of the 2023 campaign, with the star back tallying 102 yards and two scores.

In Henry’s stead, rookie running back Tyjae Spears did a great job as the lead man and made some key plays down the stretch to put Tennessee in position to win the game in overtime. Unfortunately, the defense couldn’t hold.

The performances of Spears and Henry will be crucial in Week 14, as the Titans figure to need plenty of yards, points and time of possession if they want to have a chance at beating the high-powered Dolphins.
