In a game against the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis left the field in the first quarter due to a shoulder injury. The incident occurred when Levis dove for a first down on the team's second drive of the game, landing hard on his right throwing shoulder. As a result, backup Mason Rudolph stepped in for Levis, who did not return to the game.

Titans' head coach Brian Callahan expressed optimism regarding the severity of Levis' injury, mentioning that initial assessments did not indicate a serious issue. However, Levis will undergo further testing to determine the extent of the injury. Despite Levis' attempt to return to the game, he was visibly in pain on the sideline, prompting the coaching staff to prioritize his well-being.

Callahan emphasized the decision to keep Levis out of the game was influenced by the upcoming bye week, aiming to prevent any additional risk to the quarterback. Levis, who had thrown his sixth interception of the season prior to the injury, has faced challenges this season adapting to a new offensive system under Callahan.

During Monday's game, Levis completed 3 of 4 passes for 25 yards before exiting. His season statistics include a 68.4% completion rate and four passing touchdowns. In Levis' absence, Rudolph took over and led the Titans to their first victory of the season, orchestrating seven scoring drives, including two touchdowns. Rudolph, in his first game action of the season, completed 9 of 17 passes for 85 yards.

Callahan dismissed any speculation about Levis' status as the team's starting quarterback, affirming that Levis remains the starter once he is fully healthy. The decision to sideline Levis was solely based on his health and the need to protect him, especially with the upcoming bye week providing an opportunity for recovery.

Overall, the Titans managed to secure a 31-12 win over the Dolphins, with Levis' injury being a focal point of the game. The team will await further updates on Levis' condition as they prepare for the next phase of the season.
