Titans QB Will Levis carted to locker room with foot injury

UPDATE: Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis has been ruled out after he suffered a foot injury in the second quarter. Based on the replay, it looks like Levis got his foot stepped on. The severity of the injury remains unknown, though.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis was carted to the locker room in the second quarter of the Week 17 game against the Houston Texans with a foot injury. He is questionable to return.

The injury happened on the Titans’ first offensive series of the second quarter. Levis took a big hit on a sack and fumbled the football, which Houston returned for a touchdown to take a 17-0 lead.

Levis had his foot checked out on the sideline before being taken to the back. It was clear the rookie signal-caller was trying to avoid that, but Tennessee’s trainers erred on the side of caution.

Thankfully, it doesn’t look to be serious, but Levis’ day could very well be done — and it should be with how lopsided the game is looking early on.

Going into the game, there were two schools of thought when it came to Levis, who was coming back from an ankle injury he suffered in the last game against Houston.

One side argued that he should sit the remaining two games to avoid injury behind an offensive line that can’t protect him, and the other side believed he should play because rookies need all the reps they can get.

After this injury, it’s hard to argue against the former any longer.
