Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis made his NFL debut in Week 8 and not only did the Titans snap their two-game losing streak with a win over the Atlanta Falcons, the rookie was nothing short of sensational, also.
The Kentucky product completed 19 of his 29 passes for 238 yards and four scores while showing excellent command of the offense, poise in the pocket and accuracy with his passes.
But Levis wasn’t just dinking and dunking, as three of his touchdowns were on passes of 30-plus yards, including a pair of strikes to DeAndre Hopkins that went for 61 and 47 yards.
Levis called his outstanding debut “a dream come true” but joked he won’t take too much time enjoying it with a Thursday night contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers just days away.
“This is a dream come true, for sure,” Levis said, per Paul Kuharsky. “I’ve got 12 minutes to celebrate it before we’re on to Pittsburgh, as [head coach Mike] Vrabel said… I’ve been dreaming of this moment as a kid my entire life. Even just to touch the field in a NFL game, let alone get a win, is incredible.”

Levis admitted he was feeling some nervousness in the build up to the game but said he was able to remain poised on the field, which definitely showed.
“The last couple of weeks, I think there were certain days where I was kind of feeling the butterflies a little bit,” he explained, per Terry McCormick of Titan Insider. “But, really just confidence and keeping it neutral, just head space and everything. I didn’t really have any of those (nervous) feelings today, so that was good.”
Levis looked to be very prepared for his first start, with the rookie even checking out of plays throughout the contest. The 2023 second-round pick praised his coaches for getting him ready.
“I was just going off my rules and what was asked of me at the position,” Levis said of checking out of plays, per John Glennon of Nashville Post. “I think that I have to thank coach Kelly and coach London for preparing these last couple of weeks. I thought the game plan was just really fitting for what we were going against and for it being my first start and everything. We have multiple ways we can open up the playbook and we showed some of that today, but props to them for putting me in position to succeed.”

After Levis’ sensational performance on Sunday, I think it’s safe to say this is his team moving forward, even after Ryan Tannehill is healthy enough to play.
