Titans’ O-line unsurprisingly finishes dead-last in PFF’s rankings

In a recent article ranking the offensive lines of every team in the NFL, the Tennessee Titans’ unsurprisingly finished dead-last.

According to Zoltán Buday of Pro Football Focus, the Titans’ offensive line landed at No. 32 in his end-of-year rankings after the unit finished last in pass-blocking efficiency and first in sacks allowed (more on that shortly).

Buday also pegged center Aaron Brewer as the team’s best player upfront, citing his 78.7 run-blocking grade, which was seventh among centers.

Many expected the Titans’ offensive line to be the worst in the league, and they failed to defy expectations. The unit finished last in pass-blocking efficiency this season.

The Tennessee offensive line also surrendered the most sacks in the NFL (49).

Best player: Aaron Brewer

Brewer posted a 78.7 run-blocking grade this season, which ranked seventh among centers.

While Buday has the Titans leading the league in sacks allowed with 49, ESPN lists them with 64 allowed, 21 fewer than the New York Giants surrendered.

Whatever the case may be, there’s no argument that the Titans’ offensive line was absolutely horrible in 2023 and major changes are needed this offseason.

The highest priority is left tackle, where the Titans sported a pair of players (Andre Dillard and Jaelyn Duncan) who finished in the top five in sacks allowed at their respective position.

As of right now, left guard Peter Skoronski is the only one whose name I’d write in pen for next season. The only other lineman who is close is right guard Daniel Brunskill, who was arguably the team’s best all-around lineman.

Brewer was good in run-blocking but his pass protection still leaves a lot to be desired, thus center is most definitely on the list of positions that need improvement in 2024.
