Titans’ L’Jarius Sneed given his due in rankings of execs, coaches, scouts

ESPN continued to unveil its positional rankings based on the opinions of NFL coaches, executives and scouts on Thursday and Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed made the cut at his position.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Sneed landed at No. 4 on the list, but he did receive at least one vote for No. 1. Sneed landed in the honorable mentions category on last year’s list.

“He’s such a pain in the a–,” an NFC offensive coach said. “You’re in for a long day when you play him.”

An offer for Titans fans

“He can struggle with the quick, shiftier players, but with the bigger body receivers, he can dominate as a physical press corner because of his physicality, and he’s always up for the challenge,” an AFC defensive coach said. “Excels in man or zone. And he has a knack for timely playmaking, and he will come up in run support and tackle.”

Sneed’s ranking is well-deserved, as he became one of the premier cornerbacks in the NFL during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs.

He presents a massive upgrade for a Titans secondary that has struggled mightily in recent years, and he’s a great fit for the kind of defense that defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson wants to run, which is physical and aggressive.
