The Tennessee Titans made a much-needed addition to their offensive line group in the 2023 NFL draft when they selected Northwestern offensive tackle Peter Skoronski with the No. 11 overall pick.
While it wasn’t the sexy pick Titans fans were hoping for after hearing about a possible trade up for a franchise quarterback, Skoronski does help fill one of Tennessee’s biggest needs.
Skoronski has the potential to be a top notch left tackle for the next decade, and while some fear he may not pan out there because of short arms, Skor’s floor is a Pro Bowl guard if they’re right, which makes him one of the safer picks.
I’d expect Skoronski to compete for the left tackle job but ultimately end up at guard in Year 1 after he loses out to Andre Dillard. However, the Northwestern product will be waiting in the wings.
Here’s a look at how Titans fans and media reacted to the pick.
TITAN UP!

Lotta people hating on Skoronski for his short arms, extremely polished College tackle that can play anywhere.
Titan nation should be excited.
Respect the 7’s!

The #Titans at No. 11 select a smart, safe player in #Northwestern OL Peter Skoronski. So, no QB early.

Peter Skoronski will help solidify the #Titans OL. Will it be at G or T? Time will tell.
Skoronski will likely compete with Andre Dillard at LT. Loser starts at LG?

Not glamorous, but necessary. Short arms mean Peter Skoronski could wind up a guard.
He and Andre Dillard are likely to work through it at camp with one winding up at left tackle and the other at left guard. #Titans

It's OL Peter Skoronski for #Titans, per reports. I like it. Might be a great LT, and will almost surely be a great LG if not.

The #Titans got an absolute dawg in Peter Skoronski
People love to show the one rep from 2021 where Skoronski was exposed by LVN yet conveniently leave out the countless other reps over the last 2 years where he more than held his own.

I am very satisfied with this pick!!
Ran may not have hit the homerun, but he did hit a double and that is a sorely crucial with how this team has missed on first rounders.
Really good pick, Ran. #Titans https://t.co/tQ8imBCc2C

#Titans select Northwestern OL Peter Skoronski at 11.
Fills an immediate need. Lots of versatility. Might be slightly underwhelming after all of the QB hype, but this is a really good player that will be a big piece in Tennessee's offense.

In my head I know it was the right pick but my heart was somewhere else completely.

Wrong cat but whatever

Got the beat offensive lineman in the draft
cannot complain at all.— PX TITAN (@MtlTitan) April 28, 2023
Thank you for not drafting Will Levis
— Mason Woods (@mawoods_) April 28, 2023
Appropriate I’m wearing my Lewan jersey today then I guess. O-Line always feels boring in the first but it’s a great pick 🤷🏻♂️

Not exciting but necessary….now get some weapons
— Kenneth (@NJTitansfan) April 28, 2023
I mean I guess this makes sense 😔

Peter Skoronski might be my favorite Titan simply because he’s not Will Levis
— Nick Lombardi (@NF_Lombardi) April 28, 2023
Peter Skoronski, the Northwestern OT picked by the Titans is the grandson of Bob Skoronski, who not only played Lombardi's Packers, but is a Derby guy who first starred at Fairfield Prep.
Huge Valley family, with cousins Matt and Frank Skowronski who starred at Shelton #cthsfb
