The Tennessee Titans parted ways with defensive lineman Jaleel Johnson a little over a week ago, but he didn’t go quietly, with the veteran firing off a few tweets voicing his frustration with the team.
In those tweets, Johnson made it clear he didn’t think the defense was the biggest problem in Tennessee, and he also referenced how lucky Kevin Byard was to be traded from the Titans to the Eagles.
He wasn’t wrong about either thing, by the way.
After that, it was assumed we had seen the last of Johnson in Nashville, as head coach Mike Vrabel is the last guy you’d think would be forgiving about such a public showing of frustration.
However, that apparently wasn’t enough to cross him off the team’s list for good. The Titans announced on Wednesday that they have brought Johnson back, re-signing him to the active roster just eight days after the aforementioned tweets.
While surprising, the decision to bring Johnson back is par for the course in a season in which the team has been a comedy of errors. It’ll be interesting to see what Vrabel has to say about reuniting with Johnson after those tweets.
