The Tennessee Titans have reportedly scheduled their second interview with Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Titans will bring Callahan in once again on Monday, indicating that he’s a finalist for their head coaching vacancy.
This interview will be in-person and is the first second interview the Titans have held with any candidate.
Callahan has been the Bengals’ offensive coordinator since 2019. He doesn’t call the plays but does have a big role in game-planning.
He also has experience as a quarterbacks coach from previous stops and saw two young quarterbacks have success on his watch in Cincinnati in Joe Burrow and Jake Browning.
Another attractive thing about Callahan is that his dad, Bill, is one of the best offensive line coaches in the business. The hope is that if Brian is hired, he’ll bring dad along with him.
The Titans have interviewed 10 of the 11 candidates they’re interested in. The only candidate who did not take an interview with Tennessee despite being requested is Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who took interviews with five of the six teams who requested him.
