Tired Alec Baldwin holds wife as she shares emotional tribute after Rust charges dropped

Hilaria Baldwin has paid tribute to her husband Alec Baldwin after it was announced the actor will no longer face criminal charges over the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins.

The 39-year-old entrepreneur took to Instagram on Friday to share a sweet snap of herself with Alec as she cuddled into her husband.

In the picture, Hilaria sat on Alec’s lap as he put his arms around her. They both closed their eyes as they seemed to get lost in the loving moment.

Hilaria opted for a simple red love heart for her caption.

Fans quickly gushed over the photo, with one person writing: “So happy for you both, you made it through a really tough situation, so much love and respect you have for each other.”

Another said: “Happy for you and your family,” while a third person commented: “Nothing but love.”

Alec had earlier paid tribute to his wife on social media, as well as his lawyer Luke Nikas.

Sharing a snap of himself out for dinner with Hilaria, Alec wrote: “I owe everything I have to this woman. (and to you, Luke).”

The loving tributes come after Luke and Alec’s other lawyer Alex Spiro released a statement to announce the manslaughter charges regarding the fatal shooting on the set of Rust in October 2021 have been dropped.

Alec had been facing two involuntary manslaughter charges over the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

In a statement, his lawyers said: “We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident."

The tragic incident saw the cinematographer and mother of one killed on the set of Rust when Baldwin discharged a prop gun, which also injured the film's director Joel Souza.

Both Alec and the film’s armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed were each initially charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter over the death of Ms Hutchins on the film’s Santa Fe County set.

Halyna was airlifted to hospital from the New Mexico set, but died of her injuries.

If the charge had stuck, he could have faced a prison sentence of up to 18 months.

There were no charges filed specific to the non-fatal shooting of the film's director.
