A Tipping Point contestant from Wales has had one of the show's luckiest first rounds in history. Customer service adviser Joe ended the first round with £1750 and progressed to the next round on Tuesday, May 10's edition of the popular ITV daytime show.
As the round ended, it didn't seem like fellow contestants Pam and Mandip stood a chance at catching Joe. As he put his first counter into the Tipping Point machine, he hoped it "wouldn't be a rider". And good news for Joe - it wasn't and he put £400 into the bank.
The luck didn't end there for Joe as he thanked fellow contestant Pam for "setting it up". On his second counter, he added a whopping £450 to the bank.

Joe's good fortune didn't go unnoticed on Twitter. "Joe’s rinsing the machine,” said @Mofoman360.
Continuing to 'rinse' the machine, Joe's luck continued and he added an extra £500 to the bank. But could he walk away from round one with even more money?

Quick on the buzzer, Joe did manage to win the counters from the penalty pot. He ended round one with a huge £1750. It seems that luck runs in Joe's family as his cousin apparently went on the show and won the £10,000 a couple of years ago. Unfortunately for Joe, his luck ran out in the final round but he walked away with a healthy £3400.
Joe's appearance came days after another Tipping Point contestant had people talking on Twitter - this time about his remarkable resemblance to Will from The Inbetweeners. Read more about that here.
