Timothée Chalamet ranks Beckhams and Susan Boyle in his list of 'greatest' Britons ever

Timothée Chalamet has named Victoria and David Beckham and Susan Boyle among his list of the all-time greatest Brits.

The Dune star, 29, was selecting the best Britons ever while promoting his new 1950s table tennis film, Marty Supreme.

"Lewis Hamilton, David and Victoria," he told the BBC, referring to the seven-time Formula One champion and the Beckhams.

He added Fakemink, referring to the London rapper who recently teamed up with EsDeeKid, the anonymous Liverpool drill artist who Chalamet is rumoured to be.

The Willy Wonka actor teased, “No comment. All will be revealed,” when asked about whether he is EsDeeKid.

His final pick for the list was former Britain’s Got Talent star Boyle, 64, who has had two US number one albums.

“Susan Boyle,” Chalamet said. “She dreamed bigger than all of us.”

"Who wasn't moved by that?" he added, referring to the 2009 viral clip of the Scottish singer performing I Dreamed A Dream from Les Misérables on BGT.

He admitted: "I remember that like it was yesterday. That was like the advent of YouTube, you know."

For the past month, Chalamet - who is dating Kylie Jenner - has been presenting jackets bearing his new film Marty Supreme’s name to people he deems to be great.

So far, he has honoured swimmer Michael Phelps, NFL legend Tom Brady and Barcelona's Spanish wonder kid Lamine Yamal.

Chalamet stars opposite Gwyneth Paltrow in Josh Safdie’s sports drama, which follows Marty Mauser as he chases his dream of becoming a table tennis champion.

He described the film as the “antidote to dark times”.

“It is an incredible, unconventional movie with an incredible, unconventional director,” the star said on the Graham Norton Show.

“It’s about the pursuit of the singular dream of following your heart.

“I believe it is an important film to put out now. I hope this movie can serve as an antidote to the dark times because ultimately it is about dreaming big.

“What starts off as a table tennis movie evolves into a heist film, and lands in a very human place. It is one of the films I am most proud of.”

The film has had three Golden Globe nominations, including for best screenplay and best picture for musical or comedy, with Chalamet up for best male actor in a motion picture musical or comedy.

It also stars US rapper Tyler The Creator, with a supporting cast including Fam star Odessa A’zion, Canadian TV personality Kevin O’Leary, US filmmaker Abel Ferrara, and Saturday Night Fever actress Fran Drescher.

Chalamet rose to fame after starring in Luca Guadagnino’s acclaimed 2017 romance Call Me By Your Name.

He has gone on to star in Little Women (2019), The King (2019) and Wonka (2023) and won the leading actor prize at the Sag Awards in February for his role as Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown.

Marty Supreme will be released on Christmas Day.
